CROWN LANDS BALLOT
ON THE EAST COAST. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Gisborne, February 24. Applications for the Otoko block, containing 20,850 awes, in the Waikohu, Ngatapa and Hangaroa survey districts, total 071, and include applicants from Canterbury, Wellington, Hawke's Bay, and Dunedin. The Land Board concluded the examination of applicants last night. Out of the total, 530 were approved, and 00 rejected on the ground of having too much land or insufficient capital, and 07 for non-appearance before the board. The ballot was proceeded with to-day for the sections. The successful applicants so far from other districts are: Section 17, block 1, C. A. Evans, Marlborough; section 24, block 1, N. J. Nunnelley, Te Ante; section 27, C. W. Wallace, Argyle East, Hawke's Bay; section IS, O. Swarbrick, Tarewa; section 4, block 2, C. T. Bramley, Wairoa; section 14, block 3, John W. Price, Nelson; section 3, block 40, J. McConocliic, Mavackakaho, Hawke's Bay; section 4, block '4, Stanley Swarbrick, Tarewa; section 3, block 4. J. V. Sorenson, Waipawa.
