ILLICIT LIQUOR. By Telegraph. —Press Aatociation. Waihi, Last Night. As a sequel to the recent police raid on the Waihi beach, H. Sorrenson, at the Magistrate's Court to-day, was convicted of selling liquor without a license in the Tauranga electorate, just over the border line of the Ohinemuri dstrict, and fined £25, with costs. W. Turner, for illegally dealing in liquor at Sorrenson's camp, was fined 20s, and Phillip Toms, for ordering liquor without giving the person to whom the order was given a statement in writing of his name and address, was fined 30s. THE HALF-HOLIDAY. Wellington, Last Night. A meeting of representatives of local bodies held to-dav to fix the day for the weekly half-holiday for the current year, decided in favor of Wednesday (same as heretofore) by six votes to three.
