KILLED IN A QUARRY
SOME NARROW ESCAPES. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received 29, 11.30 p.m. Sydney, December 29. A fall of a hundred tons of earth buried three men (Stapleford, Smith and Savage) in a gravel pit near Moree. All were 'killed. Stapleford's brother was dug out, badly injured. The contractor, Haffernan, was buried to the neck, but escaped with slight injuries.
