In the Merchant Service Guild case, the secretary of the Guild explained regarding yesterday's statement about an officer of the steamer Time being dismissed that he wished to withdraw all he had previously said. A satisfactory explanation of the incident had been made, and an assurance given that the officer was not dismissed.
