An extraordinary meeting of the Colonial Mutual Fire Insurance Co. was convened for the 13th instant to consider a proposal to reconstruct with a view of broadening the sphere of operations, and increasing the capital to -£'300,000 in £1 shares. STATEMENT WITHDRAWN. Received 15, 9.20 p.m. Melbourne, November 15. In the Merchant Service Guild case, the secretary of the Guild explained regarding yesterday's statement about an officer of the steamer Time being dismissed that he wished to withdraw all he had previously said. A satisfactory explanation of the incident had been made, and an assurance given that the officer was not dismissed. It appeared that the officer in question had been relieving anther who was injured, and when the latter recovered lie resumed his position. A PUGILIST'S DEATH.
