GYMNASTIC DISPLAY.

There is aa excellent demand for tickets for the United Gymnasium Club's grand carnival. The juvenile items, particularly the ladder pyramids, are splendid pieces of work, and photographs will be on view in a day or two to give an idea of some of the feats which will be performed.

ROLLAND HALL SOCIAL. The social held in Rolland Hall last night was a very enjoyable little affair. When it is mentioned that it was in aid of the ladies' branch of St. A 7 incent de Paul Society, the worthiness of the object will have been explained. The three ladies, Misses Golding, Mills and Phelan (secretary), who particularly associated themselves with its initiation, cannot but feel gratified at the success of their movement. The usual round of dances and vocal items, etc., was performed, the individual items being contributed as follows: Songs by Miss Golding, Mr. Bennett, Mr. Henderson and Mr. O'Brien (comic), and an Irish jig by Mr. Morris. Mr. L. D. Mclvor was master of ceremonies, and he kept the items moving.
