SOUTH WALES STRIKERS

RESORTING TO VIOLENCE. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright Received 3 11 p.m. London, November 3.

Messrs W. Abraham and Tom Richards, members of the House of Commons, have appealed to the South Wales miners not to agree to a general stoppage. They point out that such sudden and unpre-pared-for a-etion would be certain to end in disaster. The funds of the Federation were already depleted by costly litigation and stoppages. The Miners' Federation of Britain would not sanction a general stoppage. Riotous scenes occurred at Aberdare Yalley and Powell Duffryn. The strikers attacked a non-unionists' train with stones, and broke the windows. The non-unionists fled. The strikers pursued several of them, and stripped them naked.
