Piggott has been arrested on a charge of false pretences in connection with his alleged score at 1000 yards, whereby he obtained £IOO from the National Rifle Association with intent to defraud. He was allowed bail in £IOO. Piggot is alleged to have put in a bogus score card, on whose figures he was adjudged a winner.
