At the trial of the Dacca conspirators, crowds of students watched tie accused enter the Court, and considered it a triumphal march of heroes. The accused sat behind the bars, in easy attitudes, their arms round the necks of comrades, laughing and joking with the crowd. Another agent who penetrated to the inner councils, testified that he was told that British rule would cease in five years, and there would be a native king.
