Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Short and son leave by the mail train this morning for Wellington, en route to the Old Country. Mr. H. J. Okey, M.P., has received the following telegram from the Hon. Thos. Mackenzie: —".[ reach Stratford on Monday at 10.3.i, and' go on to Huiroa to open the railway." Mr. Okey replied: "The directors of the Petroleum Company are anxious for you to inspect the properties and to consult with you re oil legislation. Shall he glad if you can include New Plymouth in your programme."
