, At the Stratford Countv CounoiJ meeting on Wednesday a settler drew attention to the damage that had been caused to the Derby road by a contractor carting timber. 'At first the Conncil were inclined to make a levy on the contractor towards repairing the road, .hut a councillor pointed out that the timber had been carted to erect a school on the road that the settlers themselves had asked for, and ihe would like to know if they expected the timber to be taken up Iby aeroplane. On it -being thus shown that the carting was done for the benefit of the settlers, it was decided that no j demand be made. Let us whisper a hint in your ear.
