THE LOCH KATRINE

The tug Heroic puked up the barque Loch Katrine eighty miles south of Sydney on Monday afternoon, nnd towed her into port under favorable conditions. The barque presents a very battered appearance. But for a short boom rigged up on the stump of the fore mast and mizzen mast she is swept clean of masts and rigging. After the barque's boat left to seek assistance on "2nd May the Loch Katrine hove-to and tried to keep in the same position, but partly drifted and partly sailed northward. On Sunday she sighted Montague Island, and eventually got within six miles of land, but a strong current carried her out again. She flew distress signals and ftr«tf rockets, which were unnoticed, thotaft Jervis Bay lighthouse was visible for w couple of days. When the Heroic came to her rescue the provisions and tobacco had almost given out. Otherwise the crew did not suffer severely.
