ILL-TREATMENT OF HOUSES. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Chrstchurch, Last Night. A shocking case of brutal ill-treat-ment of horses is reported from Waiau. The victims of the cruelty were two horses belonging to J. Clark, storekeeper. On Friday night they were left in a paddock, and on the following morning the gate of the paddock was found open and the horses tfere on the public road suffering from internal injuries whic.l had evidently been inflicted in ft most brutal manner. One .of the horses died on Saturday night, and the other sue cumbed to its injuries on Monday morn- / ing. A post-mortem examination of the bodies was made by the Government stock inspector.
