MUETING OF DIRECTORS. A meeting of the directors of the Caledonian Society was held last night to t'onsidjer correspondence fronij the New Zealand Athletic Union with reference to the championship events to be run at the Society's sports on February 20th, the Association 'having desired an immediate reply in order that tliu remaining championship events might be allocated to the New Year meetings in the South Island, The president, Ma' A. McHardy, presided. : . .&.&£, It was decided to accept all the New Zealand running championships—loo, 22(1, 440, and 801) yards—and, subject to approval, to offer the 220 yards championship to the North Taranaki Caledonian Society (Waitara) at their meeting on 20th February. The following draft programme was drawn up, and recommended to the incoming executive for acceptance:— Maiden Race, 150 yards, 30s and 10s; 100 Yards Championship, £2 (and gold medal) and £1; 440 Yards Handicap, £3 (and gold medal) and £1; BSO Yards Handicap, £3 (and gold medal) and '£l; '^■H'i Band Contest Handicap, of £4fl, 'of 120 yards, 220 yards, and 400 yards, £">, £2 and £1 for each distance, with additional points prizes of r £ls, £5 and £2; Half-mile Handicap, of £5 and £1 10.45 Mile Handicap, of '£s and '£l 10s; Forced Handicap, 220 yards, of £2 and 10s; Novice Cycle Handicap, one mile, 30s and 10s; One Mile Cycle Handicp, of £4, £l, and 10s; One Mile and a-half Cycle Handicap, of £4, £l, and 10s; Dominion Wheel Race, two miles of £lO. ?Jt, £1 10s and 10s; Prizes of £l6 and four gold medals were provisionally allotted to Highland events. i % The Society is making endeavors to secure a special donation of '£lo to he added probably to the Wheel Race.
