Mrs Dewar, "and Mrs Hughes, of Auckland, were present, totli ladies had attended the Convention in Wellington, and gave cheering accounts of temperance work generally, and of the extinction of the Alliance debt.
The superintendent of Petition work reported that the anti-totalisator paper had been freely signed by men and women of all classes, and emphasis was laid on the assistance rendered by ministers of churches calling the attention of their congregations to the petition and urging them to sign it. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to the workers who had given their time so freely in connection with the petition. Mrs Brash, as chairwoman of the Rest-room Committee, reported that the Borough Council had granted the Union the use of the room for another year. The clothing department ask that children's cast-off clothing for all ages to be sent to Mrs Boon, Buller street, next the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
