The latest carols have been obtained from the Old Country, and as the baud is in excellent trim the selections are likely to be especially good. The usual Christmas Eve crowd will have the opportunity of hearing the musicians in Devon street about S oclock,, and a start with the carols will he made about ll.lio. For the convenience of tlio-e attending the races, the gate leading through the ltec. sports ground will be open during both race days, thus giving the public an opportunity of seeing the gruat work done to tile ground and also reading a sign which will be of some interest to them.
