WILLOUGHBY-WARD COMPANY,. The Willowby-Ward new Londotj Comedy Company, including the farm ous actress, Miss Grace PaTotta, and the other members, w ho were specially selected for their adaptability i'a presenting good wholesome farce comedy such as is constituted in thia evening's production of "The Mar* from Mexico," arrived to-day* The, story briefly outlined, is that Mrq Fitzhugh has paid an innocent visit* ot curiosity to a notorious saloon—l the place was raided while she was in a roam with vo n Bulow Schmidt 3 German stranger, bUt> through thej chivalry of Louis, an Italian waiter, who refused to identify her she was released. Her husband was also in the saloon in another room but he got into a dispute cabman, w>« arrested and sentenced .to the island. Now for these hours ill a deputy sheriff, and when ||HHH pu.ls upon the district attorney failed, he announces to his family, that he is going on a trip to Mexico". m and departs to serve his time. The, ' second act is in the warden's office at the penitentiary. AH the men Cook, and Majors, a meddling but muddling friend, and the women come on a flower mission. The warden falls in love with Mrs Fitzhugh, so he shows her imprisoned husband every courtesy and carries a <lelftc* from him, dated at the city of Mexico and describing streets, houses, shops, o tc, Released in the third act Fitzhugh returns home in a Mexican costume to find all the family similarly arrayed and the house decorated with Mexican flags. After he has danced a holero with Mrs Fitzhugh, all is explained and all is forgiven. There is an underplot concerning the loves and rivalries of Daunton, an architect, and Farrar, a lawyer, but it is practically obliterated by th e principal theme. Miss Grace Palotta plays Mrs Fitzhugh. Mr Wartl Fitzhugh, and Mr Willowby |\i< original part-of Roderick Majors,' Several songs and dances will' be introduced and the whole production is s u re to uphold the popularity it has deserved'y gained. WEST'S PICTURES AND THE BRESCIANS. The return of this popular company to the Theatre Royal New Ply. mouth, is fixed for Monday, December 3rd. They havo just concluded a most successful season in Australia, where it is said they have repeated their New Zealand triumph, playing everywhere _to enormous crc'ivds.
