INTERVIEW WITH A 'FRISCO RESIDENT. Auckland, October :g. Mr Cockrofi, general passenger agent at 'Frisco for the Oceanic S.S. Company, at present in Auckland, asked whether he could throw anylight upon the exclusion of Japanese from the schools of San Francisco, explained that the number of educational institutions had been somewhat diminished by the earthquake and fire, and that those left, were rather crowded, and in consequence the question arose with those in charge of giving preference to whites over those other races. The question when he left 'Frisco was not regarded as a serious one. and certainly not one for interntional complications.
