Messrs Okey, Son and Arnold, New Plymouth, notify a line of velyct polishers of varied pattern for polishing stoves, boots and linoleum. Housewives should not miss this opportunity, as the articles are sure to give good results.
Messrs E. J. Carthew and Co. report having sold a valuable town allotment, containing 84 feet of frontage, situated near the court, house, in Powderham street, on account of Mr Thomas Furlong, jnr., to Mr Alexander Milne, who is acquiring it for a church site, also j apro section with live roomed villa, situated in Lemon street, on account of Mr F. Messenger, to Mr Carrington, of Omata.
In this issue Messrs Bewley and Griffiths announce that they will hold a clearing sale on account of Mr Earp at Tatariamaka, when they will sell without reserve the whole of his live and dead stock. The cows are a particularly good lot and had tho best test at the factory. Some most useful electrical novelties are at present being offered by P. De la Haye, electro-plater and importer of electrical novelties of Devon street East, New Plymouth. The goods are in the shape of pocket lamps, which, by the mere pressiug of a button illuminates the ground for a distance of about 30 yards. The small price of 5s (id is being asked for the lamps which should meet with a ready sale. People can't help talking about the hoys' and girls' boots and shoes at Deare's Arcade, New Plymouth. There is no bote! in Taranaki that has grown more popular with the travelling public (ban the Egmont Hotel, Hawera, since it has been under the management of Mr Alf. Jury, The success is due to the manner m which the hostelry has been run. No pains are spared to study patrons' convenience, whilst everything is up-to-date and of the host. Elsewhere an advertisement in connection with the hotel appears. Okato residents seem to thoroughly appreciate the efforts being put forth Iu their interest by Mr M. C. Lawson, butcher in that town. Amongst other up-to-date notions, Mr Clurry, his mmager, has given quite a "tone" to the establishment by his spbndid dis- | play of meat and small goods on Friday nights. Last Friday there was a | very fine show of fat beef, fattened on j Mr Prisk's farm, mid mutton from Mr 'Ashley's, being some of the finest ever killed on the coast. Tastefully arranged also were the German sausages, white puddings, and so forth, an innovation in that district, Mr Lnwson's progrcssiveness is much appreciated amongst his customers.
