FOOTBALL.
THE YORKSHIRE MATCH. Sydxby, January 17. The " Daily Mail," commenting on the Yorkshire match, says:—"lt was a flue sporting crowd, and the volume of cheering which greeted the constant Hashes of the " All Black" brilliancy testified that the game was very fast, the Y'orksliirenien being run off their feet. The visitors carried serum after scrum, aiul the Tykes in the first half were fairly flabbergasted at the extraordinary speed of their opponents. In the second half the Home team set to work with the energy born of despair, and for fully a quarter of an hour had as much of the game as (he visitors forwards. They devoted themselves to loose rushes, and raised (he hopes of the crowd to shrieking point by invading the New Zealand territory. Then a line back defence revealed itself, and, quick as thought, the defence was converted into attack. The force of the Yorkshire explosion having spsut itself, the New Zealaiiders proceeded to score. Mynott aud Hunter spoiled two beauti. ful openings by forward passes, but after this scoring proceeded in irres. istible fashion."
