An Election and a Forecast. PARIS, Jan. 12. M. Paul Doumer„" Deputy for Aisnq, and ex-Goveraor of IndoOhina, 'who is an opponent of M. Comibes, Prime Minister, has been elected President of the Chamber by a majority of 25 over M. Brisson. M. Doumer's victory may be due to the dissenting Radicals and Nationalists, and is attributed to dissatisfaction at delation in the army, and denunciation of the Concordat and income tax.

LONDON, Jan. 11. The Daily News says that M. Doumer may look forward to the Premiership by leaning on the support of the right, and there will be something like a victory for tho Nationalists.
