Some young men at a bazaar the other day, were rather shamefully, taken in. A young lady's glove was hung up on a card with the intimation that the owner of the glove would kiss anybody who bought a sixpenny tickets. In a short time many tickets were solid, and then the purchasers turned up to have the bargain implemented. A stout elderly gentleman confronted them with a smile. " This ia my glove," he said " I bought it this morning. Now come on. One at a time.-' But r.otody came on.
A most peculiar discovery was made by Mr Harkness the other day, whilst engaged fitting up the new machinery at the Otakeho creamery. After the machinery was ready for a trail start, the steam was turned on to the new engine, but to the utter surprise of the engineer, not a turn could be got out or it. The cylinder cover was then removed, when it was found that a mouse had built its nest inside the Cylinder. Further than that, the little rodent, in making its numberless trips with the material for its nest, had to pass over Some bags of Salt. Grains of salt Bad evidentally adhered to the feet of the mouse, which were deposited in the cylinder, causing rust to form on the piston rod and cylinder. To get into the cylinder the mouse had a most tortuous journey to make, but it was evidentally anxious to see the " wheels go round."—Stratford Post*

HOLLOWAY'S PILLS. Good Spirits. Everyone has frequently experienced sudden personal changes from gaiety to gloom. The wind and weather oftentimes receive the blame when a faulty digestion is alone the cause of the depression. Holloway's Pills can be honestly recommended for regulating a disordered stomach and improving digestion. They entirely remove the sense of fulness and oppression after eating. They clear the furred tongue, and act as a wholesome stimulant to the liver, and a gentle aperient to the bowels. They healthfully rouse both body and mind. Holloway's Pills are the best antidotes for want of appetite,' nausea, flatulency, heartburn, langour, depression, and that apathy so characteristic of shronic derangement of the digestion.*
