. (Per Press Association). , , AUCKLAND, August 6. Harrop, recently committed for trial on a number of charges of robbery and assault, hanged himself in Auckland gaol this morning. Harrop was a member of the Seventh Contingent. During the war a bul- t let entered his left hip and was ex- , tracted from the right. The doctors , then said madness might result. A verdict of death by poison while in a mood of mental depreseion was returned.
