4.1R J, L\ WILLIAMSON'S DRAMATIC COMPANV. THIS EVEN!NO. Lowers of high-class dramatic productions are fortunate in the cireumsLance that Mr Williamson's company, headed by the eminent young actor Mr Cuyler Hastings, wb(> tiro en route for Auckland, to appear l'<<r four weoks' season, commencing on Monday next, intend remaining over here for two nights, presenting thjs evening the dramatization of Kipling's great book, "The Light that Failed," and to-morrow evening J. M. llarrie.s splendid play, "The Admirable Crichton,"- The advance reports received of these pieces attest them to be amongst the very linpst productions ever witnessed in this colony—deeply interesting mid fascinating «y dramatic stuaieij, «u~ perbly staged, and splendidly interpreted. So Jar us the mounting uuri thy acting arc concerned, it would be strange indeed if it were otherwise under Mr Williamson.g manugenient, for he has accustomed us to look for everything that is best in these respects, and expectations have invariably been fulfilled. The plays are the workmanship indirectly and directly of two of the most brilliant writers of the present day, a factor which should contribute very largely towards their success, as it certainly does to the desire of thu public to witness them. The only regretful feature about these performances is that in them Mr Cuyler Hastings will positively make his farewell, as at the termination of his present engagement, which shortly expires, lie leturns to America to fullil important contracts. Mr Hastings made himself very popular on previous visits by his sterling work in "Sherlock Holmes," "If I Were King," etc., and lie is said to give remarkably fine portrayals in the present productions. Play-goers generully will regryt, his departure, and are surp to attend en masse to witness bis farewell appearance. !
