FIRES.
PEB PBE3S ASSOCIATION. Feilding, September 2. A fire at 7.10 thh evening at tha Wesleyan schooiroom, whioh was destroyed. When the office clo-ei at 8 p.m. it was uncertain whether the Church building could be save!. There is a shortage of water, Blenheim, September 2. This evening the store on the river wharf o*ned by Captain E kford was, with its contents, totally destroyed by fire, and the wharf itself was considerably damaged. The goods in store consis'ed of a large quantity of grain and other produce and empty sacks ownod by J. Griffin, and valued at £2000.) The insurance on this stock was £1250 in the North Queensland. The insurance on the building and wharf is between £BOO and £IOOO in the London and Liverpool, but does not wholly ov r the loss. The cause of the fire is unknown. Nelson, September 2. By a fire at Bright water vicarage the Rev. G. Baker lost most of his furniture and effeots, including his library, which was uninsured.
