The funeral of the la<e Mr F. L, Webster, on Friday was verv largaly attended, many veterans bring present, some of them acting hi pull-bearers. The Revs. F. G. Kvans and F. A. Bennett officiated at thi cemetery, the former giving a brief and touching address. A lady who had just removed part o' her household goods into a n house on Friday • vening, experienced a great scare from hor'ible groans and bumping noises under the floor. So alarmed was she that a precipitate retreat resulted. Having related her thrilling experience to Constable Buftimore and the nightwatchman. Mr Oltver, they all adjourned to the haunted house, and after a vigorous seaoh the delinquent was discovered under the house in the form of a white C-t, which had its head tightly in a salmon tin. Having laid the ghoat. the Vnipbts errant, vettirnnd ':o f hoir canal ayccations with nil thy conscious pride of victory, and the gratitude of a lady relieved of distress.
