VOLUNTEER NOTES.

The encampment; at Hawera is not very well attended, but a ftir numb r went into camp on S tturday evening atd a number will join this morning. On Friday and Saturday a good deal of useful work was done, rearguard tactics and attack and defence being practised. On Sunday a church parade was h*ll, the men being marched to their respecive churches. In the afternoon the Udrris-.n Band give a capifril programme and a large number of visitors went out to the camp. The fine weather has made the camp very enjoyable, The camp breaks up this evening and the men return to thtir respec'ive riestinati ns by special train.
