ARMY ESTIMATES.
PREPARING FOR EMERGENCIES. FEB PKIS3 ASSOCIATION. London, March 11, In the House of Commons, discussing the Army Estimates, Mr Brodriek, Secretary for War, move! a vote providing for 235.761 men, which allowed for an expeditionary forc9 numbering 120,000. He said that the present reserve of 60,000 would be increased to 100,000 within two yen's, thus enabling * redaction to bj made in tho number of men with the colours. Mr Guest moved his amendment for a reduction of 27,000 mer, whirh is approximately the total augmentation of infantry during the list five years. Mr Bilfour, in replying, denied that he intended to convey during h : s speech the idea that Russia contemplated an immediate invasion of India. He said that he only meant that Britain must consider the dangeis that were conceivable as consequent upon a quarrel with Russia'.
