VOLUNTEER NEWS.
A. bittalion parade of the local corps wu6 held on Monday nigh f , when there were good musters of the Rifl-P, Guards, Cadets, and Batta'ioa Baud. The battalion offi>Tß present were Mnjor Oney aud Captain-Adjutant Taunton. Staff Swgem'-Major Peacock was also ia atendane«. L'eutenants J. 0. Davies and T. B Hamerton and Sergeant Deacon, m mbers of "the old Tara'inki Mounted R'.fles, wire co parade, a* d a colour party wa9 picked from the Rifl 8 and Guuds t> »Cj with the old f.M.R. in tbe ceremonial at the depositing of tbe standards in St, Mary's Church on Coronation Day. Tbe batta'ion was then marched to the Recreation Grounl and practisd in the march-past, firing exercise, feu de joie, and ch 'rging, etc,, in preparation for Coronation Diy. All men were warned to attend parade at; 9.30 a m. on the 26 th inst. Tbe new scarlet unifoims for the headquarters orps are-expected here this week, and mea rdouldcallat the New Zealand Clothing Factory premises during-the next few days for tbem.
