Brown, who, with McCormic, was drowned off the lower harbour, was found when the Mararoa was steaming up yesterday. Ohkistchukch, May 12. John F. C. Ridders, an old age pensioner, hanged himself this morning. He was suffering from paralysis of the spine, and in supposed to be mentally deranged. Wahcuutoi, May 12. Den's Cronin, 70 years, who jumped from a bridge ever the Kakariki into the bed of the river 30 f jet below to escape an approaching train, died in the hospital to-day. An inquest was held, and from the evidence it appears the man, while crossing the bridge lost his head at sight of the train approaching, and either fell or jumped into the river. The jury returned a verdict of death from natural causes, acclerated by shock, and exonerated the engine driver from all blame. The adjourned inquest into the circumstances of the death of Samuel Tosland, who was found dead in his bed on March 19th, was held to-day. The inquest had been adjourned so that, the conteuts of the stomach might be analysed.
