A man named George Parks wu watching a steam hauler at work in the bush at Mangawhero sawmill yesterday, when the wire rope snapped, and in its recoil caught Parks, who wu *t» riding on a heap of skids, aad threw bim a distance of 20 feet against loot* timber. Medical attendance waa obtained at Eltham. Eia itjnriaa ara serious, but not definitely located. He left frr Howara Hospital this morning. Woodvilus, April 16. A fatal accident occurred at Manga. Wnoka railway station last night, Charles Spaoger was standing on tilt edge of the platform when tha 8.80 train came in. He suddenly lurched forward, and was struck by the cowcatcher. When picked up ha wag quite dead, his neck being broken, and th re w<i6 also a gvsh oo the aide of his head. Deceased, who wasa cabinetmaker, had only one leg. Auckland, April 16. The body of Johnstone, chief engineer of the Herald, who was reported missing yesterday, has bean found ia the Manukau harbour.
