IMPOKTANI' DECISIONS. PEE PRESS ASSOCIATION. Wellington, April 7. Further judgments in the Appeal Court were :—ln the case of Hannab v. Commissioner of Stamps, au appeal from the Commissioner was allowed, the Court holding that as the documents relied upon as a deed of gift had not been executed by the donor, there was no taxable instrument. In re the Land Transfer Act and the Wellington City Corporation, the Court were unanimously of opinion that when in owner sells a portion of bis holding, retaining the balance, and not upon any preconceived plan of sailing the whole in parts, he does not come within the operation of section 20 of the Public Works Act Amendment > Act, 1900. The Court therefore ordered the District Land Registrar to register the two transfers to the Wellington City Corporation which ware before it. The Court adjourned until Wednesday.
