Pareora, for New Plymouth, at 4.10 a.m. The Pareora left Greymouthat 4.19 a.m. yesterday for New Plymouth with a cargo of coal. The Sotoiti left Onehunga at t.30, and the Tnkapuna lef6 Wellington at 6.80 yesterday afternoon, both for New Plymonth. Mr. Stnbbs, the local agent, informs as that the lfobau discharged all her cargo of coal at Wai'ara, and then proceeded to Hokau for another cargo. She is expected to arrive at the Breakwater from Mokau on Friday with a cargo of coal for the Freezing Works. The daily steamboat service ends this week. A suggestion has been m->.de that the Government should ran steamers in connection with the trains at-both ends, booking people through from Invercargil to Auckland at the railway tni'eage rates, with a fixed extra charge for meals and beds. Ur. Rrn«on, the general manager of the Northern Steamship Company, came down by the Mgnpuhi yest *rday morning; be spent the day in New Plymenth ?id proceeded south by the evening t'ain. He returns to Auckland on Friday evening.
