THE ATKINSON MEMORIAL.
The following letter ppeeks for itself: — Westminister Chambers, 13, Vic-toria-street, London, S.W. December 12tb, 1901.—Dear Sir,—l have to thank you for your very kind letter of the Ist November last, and am very glad to hear tint Sir Harry Atkinson's bust reached New Zealand safely, and has pleased his family and fi iends. I know that Mr Begram spared no pains over the work, and J am writing to hi® to let him know what satisfaction it hns given. As for my own small pari; in the matter, I need hardly giy that it gave me the greatest possible pleasure to be of any little service. As you know, I belong to the party opposed to Sir H. Atkinson, but I sincerely admired his abilities, honour, and strength of character. He was, in the fullest sense of the worde, o m of the rulers and statesmen of New Zealand.—lfours very trpjy, "W.
