MR. V. T: BELLRIN&BR APPOINTED. The Borough Council resumed its adjourned meeting on Thursday evening, when there were present the Mayor (Mr, E. Dockrill), Ors. Oonnett, Clow, Lealano, Brooking, Carter, Oolhs, Tiach, Webster, and Stobr. The business in hand was the Option of a Town Clei k, and the Council went into eemmifr-ee. The following were the applications received : W. Armstrong, Bahotu; P. T. Bellringer, New Plymouth; S. G. Chambers, Te Kopuru ; P. Conolly, New Plymouth; S. L. Fairhal), H&wera; A, B. E. Fookee, New Plymouth; P. Magnusson, Masterton; a. McKenaie,Auckland) C. Ryan, Morrinsville; R. D. Stuart, New Plymouth; W. J. Trutum, I Siitham; F, W. Welch, Now Plymouth; A. Weller, Fitaroy; J. Wells, We'ling. ton. On resuming the Mayor stated that Mr. F, T, BellriDger had been recommended, and he moved that he be accordingly appointed Town Clerk, Borough Treasurer, Officer, and Collect s%tes for New Plymouth, Cr. Brooking seconded, and the motion was carried unanimously,
