A constable broke the processionists' gilt effigy of General Bailer, and a disturbance was narrowly averted. The gathering was mostly of workers. A email miuority raised shouts against Lord rlobertß acd Mr. Chamberlain. Sir Redvprs Buller's dignified reticence is interpreted as a re'nuke to the demonstrators.
