RECORD ENTRIES. Tbe forthcoming Brass Band Contest to be held at New Plymouth next year promises to be a great success. Mr Moray, the secretary, has received 16 entries, which c >nstitu"es a record for New Zealand. The liat of bands entered is as follows: Granity Creek Brass (West Coast). Denniston (West Coast) Thames Naval Waihi Brass Band Buahine Bat'alion Masterton Municipal Palmerston North Pit tone Brats Band Wellington Garrison Wanganui Girrison Dunedin Navals North East Val'ey (Dunedin). Hauraki Brass Band (Thames). Kaikorai Brass Band (Dunedin). Gisborne Braes Band. | Taranaki Garrison.
Mr J. 0. Morey, who has been round the mountain, states that great interest is being taken in the Band Contest, and that there should be a record gathering in New Plymouth for Bind Cunt est Week,
