BEWLEY k GRIFFITH'S SHARE I REPORT.

There has been a little more activity in the share market daring tbe past weak, various lines being inquired for. Bank of New Zealand have advanced to sales at 48s 9d, with farther buyers at the same figure, while National Banks have leafltted IBs. Accident Insurance have again advanced to sales at 6?». Other investment shares remain without material change. In Auckland mining valnes remain unchanged, and Ota<o dredging remains on pr. tty mnch the same level. We look for strong improvement, however, after the Christmas holidays are over and the Moly* neox under ordinary conditions will have fallen to a level that will enable the majority of the dredges to work regularly. The returns fiom the West Coast for the past week have been very satisfactory, notwithstanding that some of the claims are interfered with by flood. It is evident from the returns of the past three months that a number of claims have large bodies oi highly payable wash of very even character to operate on. We are advised that the Central Mataura second dredge was to commence operations this week on tbe No. 2 claim, and as returns I should then be doubled we hope that losal shareholders will soon see this claim in a prosperous condition.
