WELLINGTON'S DOCK SCHEME.
PER PRESS ASSOCIATION. Wellington, November 21. The committee which was appointed by the Wellington Harbour Bonrd to deal with Mr Ferguson's report on the dock Echeme, presented their report at this afternoon's meeting of the Board. The committee recommended that the Board approach Parliament nest session with a request that the Grainger-street I block should be vested in Board, as a permanent endowment for dock purposes. This block was acquired by the Board some time ago from the Corporation, under certain conditions ; amoDg others that the land must be s )ld witbin nine years after acquisition. [The Board has expended rearly .£40,000 on tbe block, and the committee propose in effect that the Board eh-mid subsidise the dock to that extent, retaining the block as its permanent property, from which revenue would be derivable. The report of tbe committee was adopted.
