FEB PBKSS ASSOCIATION.] Ohristchubch, November 20. A correspondent of the lyttelton Times at Cheviot, who saw Hon. HallJones with reference to the statement from Auckland that it was rumoured large numbers of men were to be discharged from the North Island Trunk Line works, telegraphs that there is no foundation for the rumour. Men who have finished their contracts are baing dispensed with until other works are arranged for, and as many meii will be wanted for shearing, work is only being pushed on on sections which can be opened shortly. Several men have been discharged on account of trafficking in liquor.
