With such a perfect day for the enjoyment of the pleasures of the bowling I green it was not surprising that at the formal opening on Monday afternoon there should be a very large muster of members and visitors. Mr. Tiscb, the Vice-President, was, however, equal to the occasion, and was very happy in the brief remarks customary t j the occasion. After reftrring to Mr. Paul's absence, he voiced the feelings of all present when he said that in a few weeks the mem.bsrs would hare great pleasure in welcoming home the wanderer, whom all hoped was completely restored to health. He mentioned with fome pride the stability of the New Zealand bowlers on the English and Scotch greens, ptrcicularly Mr, J. W.
