The Attorney-General, on inquiring into the status of the Commonwealth with regard to the agreements between the various States aud the Easterh Extension Cable Company, tt&s perfectly astounded to find that none of the agreements are terminable except with fcb® Consent of both parties. Therefore the Government and the company have bound themselves for all eternity. There is a proviso for lowering rates, but all other ittattets can only be determined by mutual consent.
