A SYDNEY SENSATION.
ATTEMPTED HIGHWAY ROBBERY. Received 2, 0.14 am, Sydney, November 1, A seceational attempt at highway robbery recurred at Granville, near Sydney. Messrs McNaS Cairns, ard Flood, three employees of the the Clyde engineering works, were driving in a bngey f'om t,h« bank at Granville, where they had drawn ov< r £2OOO to pay the fortnightly wages at the works yVhen they almost reached their drstination a nrm rode up and ordered them to '• bail up." They drove on, but tie man fallowed ard with a rev 'ver shot McNab through the fleshy I part of the nrm. He continued the Ipnrfuit, and fired several more shots,! 'one taking effect in the hnsi's neck, without disabling it, Ms fire was returned from tie buggy, and the man eventual'y gave up the chase and galloped away. He fired a shot at a woman during his flight, narrowly missing hw. The police are tiacking the nun.
