AFGHANISTAN SITUATION.
o NO CAUSE FOR ALARM. PKR PRESS ASSOCIATION. Melbourne, October 22. Speaking at a Fedeial Ministerial luncheon Sir Robert Low, Commandant of the Bombay army, who la at present on a visit to tbe colonies, advised that people should no!; take ahrmist cable messages too seriously. The contin gency of the Ameer's death was not altogether unforeseen by tbe Indian Government and military authorities, who, if trouble arose, were prepared for it. The army compris"d 75,000 Biitish, and 200,000 Natives, and it was never in a fitter condition than at present.
