REVISED STEAMBOAT ARRANGEMENTS.
THE NEW FERRY SERVICE. DUNEDIN, NEW PLYMOUTH, AND ONEHUNGA. In connection with the daily mail trains between Wellington and New Plymouth, what is practically a ferry service is b ing established by the Union and Northern Steamship Oompiinies. Although not officially definitely fl-sed we are informed by Mr' Wa'ker, the courteous manager of the Tjnion S.S. Company at New Plymouth j that the steamer service agreed upon between the two shipping companies to, connect with mail trains will start on December Ist, and will enable passengeis to make the journey between Auckland and Wellington in very little over 24 hdiirs. TJpolu will leave Dunedin ev«ry alternace Monday, calling at Oamaru, Timaru, and Akaroa, arriving at Lyttelfcon on Wednesday, Wellington on Thursday, Nelson on Saturday, and New Plymouth on Sunday. On her return journey she leaves New Plymouth on Monday, connecting with the fortnightly Home steamers at Wellington with dairy produce. She leaves Wellington on Wednesday, Lyttelton on Thursday, arriving at Dunedin on Sitmday, calling at Akaroa, Timaru and Oamaru en route.
