FOOTBALL.

■ ♦ A BENEFIT MATCH. A football match ie being arranged to take place in the Recreation Grounds next Thursday, the proceeds bsing for the benefit of " Tommy" Garter, the Taranaki representative who wns injured in the match against Auckland. Efforts are being made to obtain the ground free of charge, and seeing the object for which the match is being arranged, we have no doubt that the Board will be able to make this concession. Mr Ambridge has kindly donated 400 tickets, and the News and Herald are advertising the match free of charge. The teams are being selected from Star and Tukapa payers, and the public may rely on seeing a good " go " for their money. The tickers, which are only sixpence each are selling very rapidly, And we feel sure the committee will be able to hand over a very substantial sum. Tickets may be ob* tained from Messrs J. Elliott, H, My' nott, A. G. Bishop, F. Stohr, and o'her 'members of the committee, or from the secretary, Mr F. T. Bellringcr.
