The application, which will be made by Mr A. B. Atkinson, of Wellington, (and opposed by Messrs Skerrett (Wellington) and Weston (New Plymouth), takes the form of a motion for certiorari, on the gro'ind of bias and predetermination. The points on which the motion are based are: (1) A written promise by the magistrate to grant the license some months before the application was heard; and (2) pecuniary obligations to a person interested in the grant of the license."
