ACCIDENT IN DEVON STREET.
Ok Monday afternoon, as Mr and Mrs Taunton's little boy of batwee two and three years of age wai crowing Devonstreet, from the corner of Elliot-street, he wns knocked down by tbe ponies attached to Mr Hawkm's trap, and at firs'; it was feared tb»t cinsid»rable injuries bad resulted. He was promptly conveyed to his mothers residence and attended to by Dr Fookes, who we are glad te My could nottraee any sorious hurt, though the boy's faoe was brui ed, and there was a slight contusion. Of course with such a littlei fellow, it is impossible to say for certain whether the injuries aresupir-j ficial only, but it is hopad that this is 1 the ca°e. We are glad to learn that the child step* soundly after being attended to, and was appirontly doing very w«ll. The riiook to his mother was very great, ciming an it did on the top of a trying ordeal ew)i»r in the day, and those who heard of the acoident wQre full of sympathy for mother and child.
