Wblmkotok, September 27. The Hon. M. Holme', M.L.O. (Otago), died this morninp. [Hon. Holmes had been more or less an invalid for sometime, and his death, though comparatively sudden, was not therefore unexpected. He arrived in the co'ony in the evly sixties, and immediately entered into business as * i nastoralist, saining a wide repntatiir as a breeder of ped'greo utoclr. He was appointed to the Legislative Council in 1866. Deceased leaves three sons and three daughters, one of the letter being the wife of the Hon. George McLean.]
