DAIRY PRODUCE EXCHANGE.

Y*s3TebdaY we published gome particulars furnished to the New Zealand Times by Mr. John Holmes, on'the subject of the establishment of a. dairy produce exchange, which should have been read with interest by the large number of people interested in dairying in this district. Yesterday the 'limes had the following further remarks on the subject:—Not the least of the many important services which the National Dairy Association of New Zealand, Limited, renders the co-opera-tive dairy companies whose interests it conserves is that of acting as a dairy produce exchange for their ben st. With a resident secretary at Wellington—in touch with all the movements in the dairy produce markets of tbe world, and armed with the latent infor-j matiou concerning the -equirenients of sellers—the association is able to safeguard the interests of its members, and is in the best possible position to aot as a selling agent on their behalf. During the past season the association conducted the sale of the surplus output of the factories of its members with distinct suscess, with the result that the association was encouraged to undertake the disposal of the whole of the season's produce. At a meeting of the executive of the association, held at Palmerston North in July last, this discussion was formulated in the following resolution:— " That the executive of the National , Dairy Association of New Zealand, | Limited, form a committee for the I purpose of selling or disposing of' the season's outputs of factories willing to place their business in the hands of the association." This resolution is now in the hands of the executive of all factories represented on the association.
