DAIRYING AT TIMARU.
PER PEESS ASSOCIATION. TiMAEtr September 21. At the ; first general meeting of shareholders of tV.e South Ctaht-rbury Diiry Factoi y Company, which has been registered, permanent directors were elected. The provisional directors reported 2222 shares wera allotted, and' 400 more applied for. A site for a central factory in Timaru had been purchased , at £SOO, and a factory manager engaged. The chairman (Mr. 0. Thompson) urged that strenuous efforts be made to effect a start at an early date, and suggested that in the meantime if creameries were erected the cream could be sold to the Oamaru Factory till their own was reidy. Mr. Glass, organising secretary of the Farmers Union, is now in this district, working south.
